During the 1800s, Knox County Circuit Court handled criminal matters and civil disputes involving sums greater than $50.
The Knox County Circuit Court index covers cases from 1810–1899. The court records, prior to being cared for by Knox County Archives, were neglected. Work is ongoing to properly separate and organize the case records, and the index is periodically updated in reflection of these efforts.
