Eric S. Head, BA in history from the University of Florida, has worked at Knox County Archives since 1999. In addition to his duties at Knox County Archives, he is an active instructor in the genealogy classes co-presented by Knox County Public Library and the East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS). Head is also a contributor to the ETHS's magazine Tennessee Ancestors.
Head has served in various capacities with the Society of Tennessee Archivists, including as president in 2012-2013. He has experience researching at numerous facilities in the U.S. including the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah; the New York City Municipal Archives; and the National Archives in Washington, D.C., as well as various local repositories in Canada. Head has also ventured overseas, looking for ancestors in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
