
Elliott Smith has a passion for bringing history, sports, and real-life stories to young readers through a variety of formats including graphic novels, fiction, and choose-your-own-adventure stories. Having worked as a sports reporter covering some of the world's best athletes, he developed a passion for storytelling that shines through in his fast-paced, fun-to-read books.
He has written more than 80 books for children including all four books in the Sports Illustrated Best Traditions and Weirdest Superstitions series, the historical graphic novel Jackie Robinson Takes the Field, about the legendary baseball player, Fighting for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a choose-your-own adventure history novel, and Streetball Showdown, an exciting fiction book about blacktop basketball. His books make history and sports come alive for kids.
He lives in the Washington, DC area with his wife and two children and loves to watch sports, go to the movies, and add to his collection of Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia.
