The Internal Revenue Service website posts all the forms and publications that you need for filing, or you can order forms and publications sent to you by mail. The filing deadline for most is April 15.
Some library locations have the 1040 instructions publication, the 1040 forms, and the 1040SR forms. Stocks vary and may run out. Check on the current stock of forms and instructions by calling your nearest library location. Branches that do not stock any tax documents are:
- Corryton
- Farragut
- Howard Pinkston
- Murphy
- Sequoyah
Check for employer forms (such as 1096, 1098, 1099, W2) at office suppliers such as Office Depot and Staples. Such forms cannot be reproduced (printer, copier, etc.).
The Internal Revenue Service's online filing partners make electronic filing easier; it is free for eligible filers.
