Did you know that in Knox County, it costs $500,000 each year to deliver books to over 20,000 children each month? Half of the cost of the books is covered by the Governors Early Literacy Foundation, but we need supporters like YOU to help cover the rest. Our community must raise $1.25 for every book that is delivered.
Sowing seeds, growing readers
When Dolly Parton founded Imagination Library in 1995 as a tribute to her father, inspiring kids to love to read became her mission. That mission has grown and now gives a book a month to over 1.7 million children across the globe.
We further that mission here in Knox County with financial assistance from the Governor's Early Literacy Foundation and donations from foundations, corporations, grants, and individual donors like you!
We need your help. Your donation will put books in the hands of Knox County's children and grow our future readers.
Each $15 gift will buy books for one child for an entire year! You can make a one-time donation or easily set up a recurring gift each month. Give the gift of reading to a young child in Knox County today!
Are you the family of a graduate?
Congratulations, graduate! Thank you for taking the time to read to your child every day. Reading with little ones is so special. Remember, reading doesn't have to stop just because your child has graduated from Imagination Library. With a Knox County Public Library card, you'll always have plenty of books available to you and your family.
Please consider paying your time in Imagination Library forward with a donation to the Knox County Imagination Library. Your gift will sponsor a child with an entire year of new, high-quality, age-appropriate books from the same program that you and your child grew to love.
